Q:

Can there be a steel plane?

A:

Airplanes do use steel, but they are not completely made out of steel. Steel is sturdy and strong, but also very heavy. The amount of lift needed to get a steel airplane off the ground makes it a bad choice for the main material of an airplane. However, steel is often used in very particular areas of an airplane, like the landing gear! Nowadays, most commercial airplanes use a high amount of aluminum and other materials.
