How are Kepler’s laws different than Newton’s laws of motion?

Newton's laws describe every motion you will ever experience. You can use them to calculate anything from the dropping of a quarter to the launch of a rocket. They are very general and encompass all motion.

 

Kepler's laws describe planetery motion. They help you figure out how planets will orbit, the shape of their orbit and their velocity at different points.
