Q:

How does the engine of an airplane work and how it is designed?

A:

A jet engine works by taking in air, mixing it with fuel to create a combustion, which then presses on every side of the engine except for the back, where there is an exhaust exit. Since there is more push on the front than on the back, the plane moves forward. They are designed to be as efficient as possible.

There are many different kinds of engines on airplanes. The piston engine is usually on smaller, one seater planes. Then there are many jet engines, like Turbofan, Turboprop, and Turbojet.
