Ask an Explainer

Q:

How does parasailing work?

A:

Have you ever run with a plastic bag and seen the bag fill with air?

Parasailing is just like that. In the same way as a falling parachute, the trapped air slows the parachute down. The same happens when the parachute is angled and moving quickly behind a boat. Drag will hold the parasail up in the air so that you can enjoy a pleasant ride.
