What are POGO oscillations in a rocket?

A:

Pogo oscillations, the name relating the movement to a child's pogo stick, are when there is combustion instability in caused by vibrations in the liquid propellant rocket engines. This causes a variation in thrust and acceleration, and can cause damage to the structure of the spacecraft.
