Yes, the Wright brothers and Amelia Earhart were friends.  The Library of Congress has letters sent between the Wrights and Earhart, in which they mention gifts they exchanged with each other.  They corresponded from 1932-1934.  Here is a photo of Orville Wright and Earhart with her Lockhead Vega, which is on display at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum.
