Q:
Is it possible for a body to be in equilibrium if only one force is acting on it?
A:
Equilibrium means balance. You need to have a balance of the forces to keep an object in equilibrium. This means if a force is pushing to the right, you need a force pushing back to the left, with an equal amount of strength.
