Q:

How do the propellers give thrust?

A:

Propellers are just one of the ways airplanes can produce thrust, the force of flight that pushes the plane forward. The propeller works like a wing with a twist: as it spins through the air, it creates a difference in air pressure. This difference in air pressure, with lower air pressure in the front and higher air pressure in the back of the propeller, thrusts the plane forward! Jamila explains further in this video.
