Q:
How does size of plane affect flight distance?
A:
To get a larger plane to fly, you need to increase lift to fight against its massive weight. You also need to increase thrust, but to do so you need more fuel, which can add to the weight, which in turn means you need more lift. Large planes can fly long distances, because their engines and fuel tanks are powerful and large. Small planes tend not to go as far, because they can't carry that much fuel without themselves being too heavy to fly.
