Q:

How far can a plane fly?

A:

Unlike cars, comercial planes can't stop for gas while in flight, so they are limited as to how far they can fly. It all depends on how many 'miles to the gallon' they can get. Very efficient planes can fly almost 16,000 km (10,000 miles) - the longest non-stop commercial flight was from Singapore to New Jersey by Singapore Air.

The Rutan Voyager flew around the earth without stopping or refueling: it flew 42,000 km (26,000 miles) non stop!
