Q:
How is the static and stagnation pressure of water in a tank calculated if the water is still?
A:
Static pressure is the pressure exerted by a fluid that is not moving. Stagnation pressure, also referred to as pitot pressure, is the static pressure at the point where the velocity is zero (stagnation point). Static and stagnation pressure can be calculated in a fluid (water) by using the static pressure formula which is equal to the density of the fluid (water) multiplied by the acceleration of gravity and the depth of the fluid.
