I recommend taking a look at the Gossamer Condor and Gossamer Albatross. They were the first two human powered machines to fly. They were basically bikes with wings and a propeller. Both were made mostly of carbon fiber tubing and covered with clear Mylar. You also might want to look into making a new bike out of those materials to make it light enough.
