Q:
If an astronaut became detached from the ISS during a space walk, how could he get back to the ISS safely?
A:
Astronauts on space walks have a jetpack integrated to their backs, called SAFER, or "simplified aid for EVA rescue". So if, for any reason, they suddenly become detached from their ship, they can maneuver back safely.
