If static pressure is negative, what does it mean?
A:
Static pressure cannot be negative. Static pressure is the pressure a liquid or gas exerts when still or if you are moving with the fluid. Static pressure drops the higher in altitude you go until you encounter the absolute vacuum of space where static pressure is zero.
Sometimes static pressure is used to talk about HVAC systems, but this is a different definition of static pressure which is not used in how things fly.
