If we use winglets, don't we get vortices there?
A:
We still have wing tip vortices even if we use winglets. Winglets help to reduce vortex drag created by the wing tip vortices, but they don’t eliminate it. Another way to reduce vortex drag is using long, narrow wings on the plane, like the Lockheed U-2 spy plane.
