An advantage of a streamlined body is that it reduces the amount of friction drag between a fluid and the object moving through that fluid. A fluid is a gas or a liquid, something that flows, such as air or water. Drag is a force that slows objects down. Friction drag is a type of drag that occurs when the fluid closest to the object comes in contact with the surface, exerting a force that opposes the object’s motion.
