While there are a lot of different kinds of airplanes, most have a lot of parts in common. An airplane needs wings to create lift, engines to create thrust, an elevator to control pitch, ailerons to control roll, a rudder to control yaw, and, of course, a fuselage to carry people and/or cargo.
