Ask an Explainer
Q:
What are the two common types of rockets?
A:
Rockets can either contain a liquid fuel or a solid fuel. The main difference is the physical state (e.g. solid, liquid, gas) of the fuel, which causes changes in the set-up of the rocket engine. You can see some of the differences in this previous Ask an Explainer question.
