Q:
What is a contrail?
A:
Contrails are a type of clouds that forms when airplane exhaust causes water vapor to freeze around small particles. Often, these particles come from the plane exhaust itself. There are three types of contrails: short-lived, persistent, and persistent-spreading. These names classify the contrails into groups based on the length the contrail exists.
