What does heavier than air and lighter than air mean?
A:
Even air has weight. If you take a cube of air, it's going to have a certain mass. Some gasses, like helium, are less dense, which means that if you weigh the same cube of helium as you did of air, it's going to weigh less--which means that helium is lighter than air and will rise like a bubble.
