Ask an Explainer
Q:
What forces act upon someone in an airplane in space?
A:
In space, the only two forces of flight that will act on you are thrust and gravity. There is no air to create lift or drag. I hope your airplane has a rocket engine like the X-15, the only plane to fly in space! If it's a propellor or jet plane, you won't have any thrust either since you need air for those types of thrust too.
