What happens to lift and drag during turbulence?
A:
Turbulence occurs when there is a patch of air with different air speeds and pressures. A plane flying through turbulence experiences a bumpy ride because lift is uneven, and drag starts pulling back on the plane more and more. It will take more thrust to pull out of the patch of turbulence.
