Q:
What is the most suitable material that can be used for the fuselage of a supersonic aircraft?
A:
Airplanes traveling at high, supersonic speeds will typically be constructed using titanium and titanium alloys. At supersonic speeds the temperature of the skin rises. Planes made with aluminum skin can lose their strength when the temperature increases whereas titanium will not.
