Q:

What is the speed of sound in warm air and cold air?

A:

The speed of sound in the air depends on temperature of the environment where it is traveling. The speed of sound will travel faster in warm temperatures, but will slow down in cold temperatures.  In warm temperatures (15 °C/59°F), the speed of sound travels at 1,220 kilometers per hour (760 miles per hour), but in the cold temperatures of (-56°C/-67°F), the sound travels at 1,056 kilometers per hour (660 miles per hour).
