It is debatable who invented the first rockets that went into space. Some claim that the first rocket was launched into space in 1942 by Germany. It was called the V-2. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration mentions their first rocket and states that it was launched in 1950 from Cape Canaveral, Florida. It is important to note that the first rockets ever invented were by the Chinese in the form of fireworks, but it took a long time to build rockets that could make it to space.
