Why do rocket scientists prefer solid propellants instead of liquid ones?

That’s a really good question. Scientists don’t always prefer one type of fuel. The two types of fuels have different benefits and the fuel that they use depends on the type of project. Sometimes both fuels are used, like on the space shuttles.
