Q:

Why do wings have different shapes?

A:

Wings have different shapes because they're used for different things. Scientists study how the air moves around a wing, and design different wing shapes for different uses. There is no perfect wing for everything. Different shapes are better for different things! Some plane have wings to carry heavy planes over long distances. Some are designed to fly at very fast speeds, or at very high altitudes.
