We still can’t fly quite like birds, but we can fly faster and farther! Here, the launch of Space Shuttle Endeavour startles a large bird to flight. Kennedy Space Center has been the launch site for every U.S. human space flight since 1968. It also serves as an important wildlife sanctuary, providing habitats for migratory and threatened birds.
