Q:

What is terminal velocity?

A:

When an object is dropped, it will keep accelerating as it falls. Here on earth, the force pulling us down, gravity, or weight, has an accelaration of 9.8 meters per second squared. When the drag pushing back up on a falling object equals the force of gravity, then gravity and drag cancel each other out - you are no longer accelrating on your way down. You have reached your terminal velocity, the fastest speed (velocity) at which you can fall.
